Hi all

Had another great game of Pz8 a few days back

The US army attacked a German position

The US had 3 Armored Divisions + 1 armored division in reserve while the Germans had 3 depleted Pz Grenadier divisions

The game was actually very interesting (I stopped taking pictures at some point)

The Germans had each of their divisions around a strong point (Hill in the center and two town)

The US attacked each position with one division and actually managed to take the two towns

But the German hill could not be taken  

Great fun hope to have another game next week

Hi all.

Finally completed all 3 of my HOTT armies (Zombie Chinese, Skeletons, and Amazons)

And had my first game with the above armies (Amazon vs Zombie)

The two generals placed their respected armies and we started

The centers on both sides moved forward and we had some maneuvering on the flanks

The centers collided and the riders on the side of the Amazons tried to flack vs some hordes 

In the end the Zombies won tha game but just 

It was lots of fun and next up will be the Skeletons vs someone 

DBA 2.2

DBA 2.2

Hi all yesterday my friend Takis came over and we played 4 games of DBA

In the first game we put Byzantines vs Egyptians. The two armies were very similar both had lots of Cv and Bw(x)

The two opponents put their battle line one against the other but on the Egyptian left a hill dominated the area and both wanted to take it.

Unfortunately for the Byzantines the Egyptians got there first with some Ps

The Byzantine lost a Ps trying to get the hill  

It was downhill for the Byzantine after that

The Egyptians started turning the side of the Byzantine as the two Battle lines clashed

4-1 for the Egyptians 

Second game 

In the second game the Byzantine took on the early Crusaders

The two armies had many distinct differences, The Kn for starters and the Sp for second

The Crusaders sensing that they had no troops to cover their sides preferred to charge in to hit the battle line of the Byzantine before the Lh and Cv of the Byzantine could flank them

The Byzantine tried their best to flank the Crusaders as the Crusaders moved forward but due to lack of PIPs

 So the two battle lines hit each other

Lots of back and forth left the Crusaders winners 4-2 

Third game

In this one the Hoplite Greeks faced of the Persians

This was the most fun for me game (I was the Persian) as the Cv, LH, Ps troops run circles around the Greeks 

I attacked only with my right flank and managed to kill the 1 Ps and Cv that the Greeks had defending 

The game was over with a 4-1 for me 

We both enjoyed the games it was good fun it took us about 2 hours to play all the games 

DBA 2.2

DBA 2.2

Hi all had a very long time to play DBA so I got some armies out called a friend over and played some Egyptian vs Crusaders games.

The Egyptian had

1x Cv (general)

5x Cv

3x Bw (x)

1x LH

1x Ps

1x Bd

The Crusaders

1x Kn (general)

3x Kn

5x Sp

2x Ps

1x Wb

The Egyptians defended (+1) while the Crusaders attacked (+4)

This gave the crusaders the chance to put their Kn in the best position as to cause most damage

The two battle lines closed in while the Egyptian Bw(x) with some nice shooting took out a Kn.

As the two lines got closer the Egyptian LH which was on a flanking move appeared and along with 2 Cv tried to kill a Kn 

But the Kn was not that easy to kill 

The two lines collided and the Crusaders started pushing the Egyptians back 

On the hill to the right of the Egyptians a Bw (x) and a Ps faced off with a lone Wb

The Shooting did not do much as you can see

The melee that followed was not very good for the Egyptians

All in all it was a very fun game.

Both of us had no problem with the rules.

Hi all 

We had another game of Pz 8 Divisional Modern this time. 

We set up a game in 1985 W. German vs USSR

The Germans had 2 Pz Grenadier Brigades 

1 Pz Brigade and the Divisional assets in a small task force 

The USSR had 3 BTR Brigades 

1 Tank Brigade and the Divisional assets in a small task force 

We rolled and the Germans would defend the two villages on the map with the USSR attacking 

The Germans went first and opted to defend one village with 1 PzGr Brigade and the other village with the task force while the second PzGr Brigade was stationed behind an hill as reserves the Pz Brigade was to start rolling to enter the table after turn 2

The USSR attacked on 3 lines.

2 BTR Brigades attacked the left village (defended by the task force) 

1 BTR Brigade and the task force attacked the right village (defended by the PzGr Brigade)

While the tank Brigade was in the middle in reserve. 

The USSR attack on the right was a decoy and after a few battles in and around the village the Soviets pulled back.

The fact that the German Pz Brigade came in to support the village also helped the Soviet commander to pull back.

  

On the left village the Soviets attacked with 2 BTR Brigades and 1 Tank Brigade 

even the PzGr Brigade that came to help the task force in the town could not do much.

Finally the Soviets took the village on the left but that was not enough to win them the battle. 

As always the rules were very nice and the battle went without a hitch. 

Nick (my opponent) had a very good time and even though he is a fun o FFT 3 he enjoyed the low complexity of the set.
